The Arab Insurance Institute: appointment of new CEO
Mr. Husain Al Ajmi joins The Arab Insurance Institute as their new Chief Executive Officer
At a recent meeting of the Board of Directors Mr. Husain Al Ajmi BSc, ACII was appointed CEO of the award-winning Arab Insurance Institute (A.I.I.), taking over from the steady hand of Mr. Khaled Abu Nahel who as interim CEO steered the Institute to early success as the Educational and Training Initiative of the Year winners at the November 2015 MIIA Awards in Dubai.
“We are delighted that Husain is joining us at this exciting time in the Institute’s growth” said Khaled Abu Nahel.“His extensive experience as a seasoned executive in both insurance and insurance training operations, and the respect with which he is held throughout the region, will be a tremendous asset to build on the strategies and direction set by the A.I.I Board to expand the support and development of Arab Insurance professionals wherever they are based.”
The A.I.I.’s mission is to partner with insurance organisations to build the practical skills, innovative thinking and strategic perspectives necessary for sustainable insurance operations. It caters for the training and development needs of Insurance and Reinsurance companies and Brokers, Loss Adjusters and Risk Managers,as well as insurance professionals in other industries, offering programs in technical disciplines, business and management skills, General and Life. The A.I.I. also aims to become a major repository for knowledge and research, facilitating and disseminating thought leadership from the region’s deep wellof experienced insurance professionals.
A.I.I. Chairman Mr. Ghazi Abu Nahl said, “Husain is the regional spearhead within the Arab world’s insurance education training domain. Now at the helm of the A.I.I. he will be responsible for the growth, advancement and operations of this pan-Arab organization as we intend to become the referral insurance learning and development institution within the broader MENA region going forward.”
Availability and flexibility are core values of the A.I.I. and it is committed to providing learning solutions when and where they are needed. The expansion into on-line learning to blend with its highly-regarded face-to-face training will rapidly extend both the range of programs available and the reach into the MENA market. The appointment of Mr. Al Ajmi is timed to ensure that the Institute is well-positioned for this next phase of development.
The new CEO says of his ambitions for the Institute, "I look forward to continue the ambitious tasks set forth by the dynamic Board Members and ably steered by the interim CEO.
