The Palestinian Insurance Federation expresses its strong disapproval of the lack of seriousness shown by the Pharmacists’ Association and its continued insistence on not adhering to the understandings reached between the two parties, the most recent of which were concluded under the auspices of the Palestinian Capital Market Authority.
The Federation further voices its concern regarding the Association’s approach, which rejects contractual freedom between insurance companies and pharmacies, in a manner that undermines the interests of contracting parties and beneficiaries of these services.
The Federation also notes that the Association, in its statements, deliberately targets and disparages specific companies, raising questions about the motives and objectives behind such conduct.
The Federation affirms that all member companies have demonstrated their willingness to resolve any outstanding claims. Indeed, communication has already taken place with the Association’s representative in this regard; however, the Association has not allowed room for these efforts and has failed to comply with the agreed understandings.
The Federation expresses its surprise at the Association’s persistent use of rhetoric that is far removed from the spirit of partnership and solidarity, particularly in light of the difficult economic conditions faced by our people.
The Federation extends its appreciation to the Palestinian Capital Market Authority for its efforts in addressing the crisis last month and calls for the continuation of such efforts in a manner that safeguards health insurance policyholders and beneficiaries of this essential service under the current circumstances.
It is worth noting that insurance companies in Palestine collectively pay approximately ILS 50 million annually to pharmacies operating in Palestine.
