The Minister of Transport and Communications, Dr. Mohammad Al-Ahmad, met with a delegation from the Palestinian Federation of Insurance Companies headed by the Chairman of the Federation’s Board of Directors, Mr. Anwar Al-Shanti. The delegation included Board Members: Nihad Al-Asaad, Mohammad Al-Rimawi, Riyad Al-Atrash, Ayman Al-Sabah, and Abdul Hakim Al-Qasim, as well as the Federation’s Secretary-General, Mr. Kaed Maari. The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Mr. Mohammad Hamdan, along with a team of representatives from the relevant general departments within the Ministry.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Federation reviewed the current state of the insurance sector and the conditions it is experiencing, along with the associated risks and challenges. He emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination with official bodies in a way that contributes to the stability of the sector and the protection of the rights of all stakeholders.
For his part, His Excellency the Minister stressed the need to enhance institutional partnership and exchange expertise to ensure the integration of roles between the Ministry and the Federation in serving the public interest.
The two sides also discussed prospects for cooperation in improving road infrastructure and developing traffic signage in a manner that helps reduce accidents, in addition to working jointly to develop practical solutions to the challenges facing the insurance sector in cooperation with the Ministry, the Capital Market Authority, and all relevant partners.
They further discussed ways to collaborate on shared issues and to develop the working environment across procedural, policy, and legislative levels, in cooperation with the competent authorities, with the aim of achieving a safer road environment.
