Al-Shanti Receives Delegation from the Banking and Insurance Union, Affirms Support for Employees' Rights and Strengthening Partnership with the Union
Mr. Anwar Al-Shanti, Chairman of the Board of the Palestinian Federation of Insurance Companies, received a delegation from the General Union of Banking and Insurance Workers, who visited to extend their congratulations on his recent election as Chairman of the Federation's Board of Directors.
The delegation included Mr. Ahmad Al-Tamizi, President of the Union; Mr. Saeed Shabaneh, Vice President; and several members of the Union’s Executive Committee, in addition to Mr. Alaa Miyasi, Secretary of the General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions – Ramallah.
During the meeting, a number of issues of concern to workers in the banking and insurance sectors were discussed, particularly in light of the current challenges facing Palestine. Mr. Al-Shanti reaffirmed his full support for the Union’s efforts and the rights of employees, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Federation and the Union through joint programs that foster employee engagement, reinforce their resilience, and develop their professional competencies.
For their part, the Union representatives expressed their appreciation for the positions of the Palestinian Federation of Insurance Companies and its Chairman, Mr. Anwar Al-Shanti. They reiterated their ongoing commitment to defending workers’ rights and building effective channels of communication with the managements of insurance and banking institutions to help create a stable and productive working environment.
This meeting comes as part of broader efforts to enhance dialogue and cooperation between the Federation and labor unions, in a manner that serves the interests of employees in this vital sector and supports the continuity of work and institutional development amid the difficult circumstances facing the country.
