An-Najah National University and the Palestinian Insurance Federation Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance Training and Education in the Insurance Sector
An-Najah National University, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Abdel Nasser Zeid, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Palestinian Insurance Federation, represented by its Chairman, Mr. Hamza Shroof, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. The agreement aims to strengthen mutual cooperation in developing professional competencies and promoting training and scientific research in the insurance sector.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Saed Al-Koni, Vice President for Administrative Affairs; Dr. Ra’fat Al-Jallad, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Communication; Mr. Kaid Mi’ari, Secretary-General of the Federation; and Mr. Mohammad Sa’abneh, Head of the Accounting Department at the Federation.
The memorandum aims to open new horizons in the fields of training and scientific research by preparing qualified professionals in insurance and risk management, contributing to the enhancement of the Palestinian national economy. It seeks to equip students with practical and academic skills aligned with labor market demands. The agreement also aims to provide a comprehensive range of professional services and to qualify and enhance the practical skills of graduates from the Faculty of Business and Communication. Additionally, it includes the exchange of scientific and professional expertise through the organization of conferences, seminars, workshops, and training courses.
Professor Dr. Abdel Nasser Zeid emphasized that this memorandum reflects the university’s commitment to serving Palestinian society and preparing competent graduates capable of contributing to the nation’s future. He affirmed that cooperation with the Palestinian Insurance Federation would enrich both theoretical and applied knowledge in this vital sector.
For his part, Mr. Hamza Shroof stated that the Federation seeks to raise awareness of insurance and develop professional competencies. He noted that collaboration with An-Najah National University represents a strategic step toward strengthening the national economy through the insurance sector.
Areas of cooperation will include the provision of specialized training programs, the organization of courses and seminars for university students, and leveraging both parties' external relationships to support professional training. The agreement also encourages and facilitates joint research projects in accounting, auditing, finance, and management, as well as providing practical training opportunities for students of the Faculty of Business and Communication within member companies of the Federation. Additionally, joint training courses will be held in partnership between the An-Najah Innovation Park and the Federation.
